Coach Jordan was born in Cleveland Ohio, because of his father’s military service his family lived in many parts of the country.  He graduated from Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1981.  He attended Livingstone College, in Salisbury North Carolina, on a football scholarship and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor’s  Degree in Physical Education and Health.  While at Livingstone College he was blessed to become a member of the LAMBDA PSI CHAPTER OF THE  ELITE OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY INC.  He is now a Life-Time Member of this great Fraternity.  Coach Jordan obtained a Master’s Degree in Administration from Gardner – Webb University in 2012.

Upon graduation from Livingstone College in 1986, Coach Jordan started his career in Education and Athletics in Pittsylvania County Virginia at Blair’s Junior High School.  He currently serves on the SCAAA Executive Board as the Second Vice President.  Coach Jordan is starting his third year as the Darlington High School Athletic Director.  Coach Jordan is married to Felicia E. Jordan, they have one son (Darren), and 1 beautiful granddaughter (Lauren Rose).

Anthony Heilbronn, Assistant Athletic Director
Coach Heilbronn was born and raised in Flushing, MI, graduated college from Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI) in 2008 with a Bachelor’s in Social Studies, and then obtained a Masters Degree in Administration from Arkansas State University in 2013. He currently lives in Darlington with his wife, Nina, and their two kids, Taylor (17) and Rylee (10).

Upon graduating, Coach Heilbronn moved to Florence in 2008, joined the DHS basketball coaching staff under Coach Ken Howle in 2011, and the DHS teaching staff in 2015. He was named Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach in February 2018.  Coach Heilbronn began serving as the Assistant Athletic Director in April 2020.


Samia Thomas, Athletic Counselor
Ms. Thomas graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Then she obtained her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Clemson University in 2006. After graduation, she returned home to Darlington, SC, and began her career in education.  Ms. Thomas currently serves as a school counselor at Darlington High School and assists our student-athletes with their post-graduate goals.


Bert Sandifer, Athletic Digital Media Director
Coach Sandifer graduated from Clemson University in 1992 with a Bachelor’s in Business. He became a teacher in 2006 and teaches Business Education at the Darlington County Institute of Technology. Coach Sandifer is married to Christy and they have three sons.

Coach Sandifer began his journey with Falcons Athletics in 2009 as a volunteer in the press box and as the “Voice of Falcons Basketball”. He was also a football video coach for five years and served as Assistant Athletic Director from 2016-2020. Coach Sandifer is now responsible for all Falcons Athletics digital content.
